HUMAN RESOURCE DEPARTMENT

Compassionate

Services

Providing practical aid, trusted guidance, and compassionate support for the mental, physical, and spiritual needs of individuals and families.

  • It’s All About Compassion

The Human Resource Department was established to provide aid and guidance to members and partners of The Elim Experience and The House of Promise. Although members and partners are our primary focus, we will also seek to assist others within the surrounding community whenever resources are available.

Our commitment to this work is rooted in the compassion demonstrated in Luke 10:25–37 and Matthew 15:32. We believe compassion should move beyond concern and lead to meaningful action in the lives of people facing real needs.

  • How Assistance Works

Compassionate Services will be coordinated throughout St. Louis City and St. Louis County, with a director assigned to each territory.

Individuals will receive assistance according to the area in which they live. For example, someone living in downtown St. Louis would be assisted through the city director, while someone living in Florissant would be assisted through the county director.

This structure allows requests to be handled locally and helps each director connect individuals with the most appropriate services and resources available within their area.

The House of Promise

Support for the Whole Person

Our goal is to provide aid and guidance in three essential areas of life.

Mental Support

Guidance, referrals, and connections to appropriate resources for individuals experiencing emotional, relational, or mental health concerns.

Physical Support

Practical assistance and resource connections for individuals and families experiencing physical, material, or everyday living needs.

Spiritual Support

Prayer, biblical guidance, pastoral care, and spiritual support for individuals seeking encouragement, direction, healing, or growth.

Is There a Cost for Services?

  • Our goal is to provide compassionate services without cost to active members and partners who faithfully support The Elim Experience or The House of Promise through tithes, offerings, or volunteer service.

  • However, some situations may require prolonged legal representation, clinical care, or other specialized services that extend beyond the assistance the ministry is able to provide.

  • When outside services are needed, the individual receiving assistance will be responsible for making the necessary arrangements directly with the service provider and covering any related expenses.

Trusted Providers and Partnerships

Services may be provided directly through the ministry or through collaborative relationships with trusted service providers and community organizations.

Services requiring professional licensing, certification, or specialized expertise will be handled by appropriately credentialed providers. Other forms of practical assistance may be provided by individuals with relevant training, demonstrated skill, or valuable life experience within that particular area of service.
